Obviously one of the original resort hotels in Jumeriah beach, the Sheraton is now dwarfed by residential tower blocks and the 'Address' hotel next door, but retains it's charm ('charm' is relative in Dubai!). The staff from reception to restaurant were all pleasant, helpful and cheerful. The hotel is right on the broad and pleasant beach and within easy walking distance of the new 'Bluewater' development with a wide choice of restaurants. We only ate in one of the hotel restaurants for one meal and had chosen not to have breakfast included in our booking. We went to Bluewater for breakfast the first morning and used the hotel cafe for a coffee-and-croissant breakfast on our second day rather than a full buffet meal. Upon our return to Dubai from a week-long road trip to Oman we stayed at the Sofitel on the Palm, but if I was to return to Dubai I think I'd be happier to stay at the Sheraton JBR which is not quite as 'blingy'. The newer hotels are probably more 'in favour' but the Sheraton should not be overlooked and certainly the welcome was warm - as was the weather. Just a word about the finances - they took a holding deposit (equivalent to £555) upon arrival which is still showing on my Monzo account. I called back to the hotel upon our return from Oman and they assured me it would disappear as I had fully settled my bill upon departure, but as of the date of writing this report (nearly a month later) it's still showing. I will have to chase them again by email; the manager gave me his card and was insistent that if it was not automatically resolved by the bank he would intervene,

Location was superb. Access from airport is about 45 minutes with a constant 10 minute crawl once off the freeway 300 metres from the hotel. This hotel is dwarfed by the newer skyscrapers around it giving it a quaint from the recent past appeal. Facilities were varied, catering for all ages. As a late May visitor, temperatures ranged from 37 to 44 during the day. Extreme humidity created a smog like effect spoiling the magnificent view most of the day. A sea view room is highly recommended. The hotel is not super modern but rooms were extremely clean and well presented with up to date fittings including USB ports at power points. Power sockets are big UK 3 pin. The area also has a public access beach beside the hotel's private access section adding to traffic congestion. Shopping and eating facilities are many and varied and within a few minutes walk. All staff at the hotel were extremely courteous and would go out of their way to assist with any minor concerns. I would like to thank Mukul Subedi in the outside dining area and Lijesh for their care and support during my stay. Oh and a special thank you to the comical local grey and black small raven like birds for their antics. The variety and quality of breakfast was outstanding and so yummy. Also, the tour person hidden away from the public area was also of great assistance.

Its true, the energy we put out there, we always get back whether it's positive or negative. I arrived on the morning of my 44th birthday to kick start my birthday celebrations and have to say this is the best holiday I have ever had I am truly moved by the amazing customer service The Sheraton in Jumeira Beach Residence has given me. This is my 3rd visit here. 5 stars doesn't quite cut it for me, from the moment I have stepped foot in this hotel, the staff gone above and beyond to make my stay amazing. If I had it my way, I would give them 11 stars. (11 is my lucky number) This morning at breakfast, they gave me a little surprise which was a little cake and card thanking me for staying with them. A very wise person said to me a positive mind with positive thoughts takes us a long way ahead #feeling immensely grateful 🙏 Thank you for everything ❤️ God bless you all in abundance 🙏

It is a relatively small hotel in Dubai scale, and a bit far from the hussle. I stayed here many times and this is what I like about this place - less people. There is a renovation in the lobby at the moment so there is no lobby at all, and it affects the breakfast, that is moved to the 9th floor to a smaller room, but apart from the breakfast situation the hotel is still very good. Renovated rooms, large garden with pool and a huge sandy beach. The beach promenade starts here with great restaurants, shops, entertainment options. If you’d take public transport to downtown, the tram station is close, and the tram connects you to Dubai metro.

Great location on the beach. With sin beds and umbrellas for guests. A great lawn and pool with sun lounges. Fantastic breakfast. One of the best you’d get. The room and fittings big and beautiful. Kind of Sheraton statesman’s style. We had a room with balcony with great beach/ocean views. If you’re coming to Dubai for a few nights stopover. Stay at this beach. It’s a happening place. The water and sand is beautiful. Not much else imo to do in Dubai.
